Second, these are the last two days to back The Heel. Backers of Bloom #2 who also back The Heel will receive a mystery Apama comic with their rewards. That goes for physical as well as digital backers.
Why are we doing this?
Apama is Hero Tomorrow Comics' first title that I co-write with my friend, Milo Miller.
Milo co-writes The Heel with Chris Ilcisko and features art by Jimmie Carroll.
(On a side note, all 11 issues of Apama are available as an add-on to Bloom #2 backers for $34 - in which case Heel backers will also receive an extra variant cover for free.)
A former wrestling king's deal with the devil to make his no-talent son Don Chuck Jr the Greatest Wrestler Of All-Time backfired in spectacular --bloody, violent, gore-drenched -- fashion that turned the annual Amateur Beat-In Brawl into the Reno Massacre. Appalled at his son's brutally savage display, he turns his back on his family, the professional wrestling community, all the fans who call him "Hero" and retires-- from the world. Can Jr., with the help of his faithful friend Shilo and canine companion Pringles, win back the respect & love of his dad and maybe find out what the chuck really happened to him? Can Jr. stop violently killing people in and out of the ring? Will he start being the hero he wants to be in his heart, and not the serial-killing Heel he seems to be in reality? Will the devil get his due?
Bloom #1 is out worldwide today. I'm signing at North Coast Nostalgia, and Bloom #2 is LIVE and... funded!
