USA Book Orders are Shipped!
about 3 years ago – Sun, Apr 04, 2021 at 04:33:57 AM

What a whirlwind... Tuesday was the day the books arrived. I started shipping right away. Then on Wednesday drove two hours from Akron to Pittsburgh (missing an exit grrr) to have Alicia sign the photo covers. Then two hours back to Akron where I signed, bagged, boarded, and shipped like a fiend.

In the US all the book orders have been shipped. Digital rewards will go out later today.

I've done the fulfillment personally on all of our campaigns, and I'm thrilled to be meeting brand new backers who decided to take a shot with issue Bloom #1. I'm blown away at the amount of people who picked up issue 1, and took a deep dive into our back catalog. And it means the whole dang world to me to see so many returning friends who've been backers since the beginning. It's one thing to write a campaign update, but it's another thing to soak in the entirety of support one backer at a time. I am so grateful to you.

I couldn't be happier with the how Bloom turned out, but I wanna know what you think. Please drop a note to [email protected]. There's a contest in the letters page too.

Thank you again, and have a great weekend, and Easter/Passover if you're celebrating!

Regina Print Design
about 3 years ago – Fri, Mar 26, 2021 at 06:35:47 PM

SHIPPING UPDATE: The comics are en route to my studio. I should be shipping by Tuesday.

Thanks for being quick to respond to the backerkit survey. There are a handful of people that are not yet filled out or incomplete. If your initials are as follows, please double check: C; EJ; JL; JS; JC; JW; KW; LS; MS; MR; MB; OK; PJ; RLAR; R; RB; SM

Everyone who backed at a physical level will also be receiving a Regina art print. When I was coloring her, in trying to keep with the spirit of the 60s, I went with an Andy Warhol-type layout and treatment. Hope you dig it :)

Thank you!

Ted

We are at the PRINTER!
about 3 years ago – Thu, Mar 18, 2021 at 04:20:45 PM

We have a winner in the photo cover survey -- and just in the nick of time as the files for the printer were uploaded less than one hour ago.

I posted the photo cover treatments several places (including the previous Kickstarter update, Hero Tomorrow FB, my personal FB, and a creator forum) and tallied them up.

  • E (45 votes)
  • F (39 votes)
  • B and B1 (29 votes, 14 and 15 respectively)
  • C (13 votes)
  • D and D1 (12 votes, 8 and 4 respectively)

I'm glad there was no controversy with, for example, the two B options combining for more than our top vote-getter. That would have been a conundrum.

A lot of folks called out how much they liked the way Alicia popped out against the blue. What I personally love about this version is we now have an image that's not just a photo pinup. This looks like it was originally bought off the rack next to Creepy or Eerie magazine in the '60s. So friggin apropos!

Now it's time to focus on getting my shipping supplies in order to blast out BLOOM to you before this month is up!

Thank ya most kindly :)
